Ok I'm not sure if I can keep dealing with capital letters on this site. I don't know why I'm trying. Even my professional emails are in lowercase.

I have been spending way too much time at work. Saturday I leave for Portugal, to go to a conference in Lisbon organized by my friend Maarten, who is an extroardinarily nice human. Perhaps he will finally meet Yao-Fen. I'll be spending the week after the conference in Belgium with Yao-Fee-Pou. We're gonna go biking and stuff. And I get to use her "whitey" during the day so I'll see y'all online. hapahaus in efFECT.

Jenny sent me an automatic camera for use in Europe so I'll have some pics someday. I still don't have a digital camera. Someday.

Last week, a paper I wrote, which is basically an improved version of half of my dissertation, was rejected from publication. They basically said keep half of it, and make a bunch of revisions to the rest. The reviewers (anonymous, but I can tell who at least one of them is) have valid points so I don't feel it's unfair, yet I don't believe things are as unequicoval as they seem to believe. In anycase I feel like a substandard scientist.

I will be home in early August. I think my mom is turning 60 while I'm there.
