New albums (old pix).
Sat May 06 01:27 PDT 2006
I had lots of grown-up fun tonight. Worked late, paid bills, ate a delicious pork and leftovers dinner cooked by Daniel, did the dishes, and blogged.
So there's two new albums of pics up. Click images on the left (you'll see
the little tanks turn green) and check out the long
overdue pix from Jonathan and Kristine's wedding, as
well as the pics that my dad gave me along with his
old digital camera that he doesn't want any more. My
dad's pix were taken at Auntie D's house a couple months ago.
New Years is changing. Each year I get more "happy new
years" text messages, and I don't know when this started,
but it's now completely un-hip to say "Chinese new year."
You simply say "new year" and people will just know whether it's lunar or solar based on the time of year.
Astronomy pic of the day.

LK told me that our Jupiter pic was the astronomy pic of the
day. I found a few more links too. But now it's after
midnight so we're not the astronomy pic of the day any
more. Oh well. Next time. I wonder if it's tacky to count
your links like this. I think it's understandable though;
this doesn't happen to me very often.
It's actually a bit embarrassing, because this was supposed
to be a 3-color picture. It's partly my fault that we only
got two colors (502 nm / cyan, and 892 nm / infrared). But
the Space Telescope people and I tweaked it enough that the
2-color image looks as good as a 3-color image. So all was
not lost.
